David Collins
Head Coach/Athletic Director David Collins is entering his 1st year at Greenville HS. Collins is a graduate of Sterling College and has a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
In Collins last stint as HC for the J.J. Pearce Mustangs of Richardson ISD he led the Mustangs to 4th consecutive playoff appearance matching the programs longest streak overall and a program first at the 6A Level. The Mustangs finished as Bi-District Champions in both the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
Before coming to Pearce, Collins served as the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Pine Tree ISD. Prior to his stint at PTISD, he was the Offensive Coordinator at Lake Travis HS where he coached from 2011-2014. The Cavaliers posted an
undefeated 16-0 season in 2011, including winning the 4A Division I State Championship. In 2012, as a member of the Lake Travis staff he was selected to coach the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Star Game. In his last
season at LT, Collins helped take the Cavaliers back to a 5A Division II state semifinal game appearance. Lake Travis amassed a 37-4 record during his 3 year tenure.
Before Lake Travis, Collins was the Offensive Coordinator at Garland HS where he helped lead the Owls to a 27-8 record and three straight trips to the play-offs. He also had coaching stops at Allen HS and his alma mater, Mabank HS.
Coach Collins is married to his lovely wife Crystal. This year she begins her 20th year in education, and her 5th year as a Campus Facilitator for Special Student Services. Coach Collins and Crystal have one daughter, Kellison who is 4.
