Coach Johnson is entering his first-year coaching as the Assistant Linebackers Coach with Greenville ISD as well as this will be his first-year teaching Texas History at GMS. He graduated from Arkansas High School in Texarkana Arkansas where he won State in the 800m in Track & Field his Sophomore, Junior, & Senior years. Upon graduating he felt the call to enlist in the Army over continuing his athletic career serving from Jan 2001-November 2007 where he served multiple tours of duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his honorable discharge he obtained his Criminal Justice & Sociology Degree also, for the past four years he has trained and continues to Train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Invincible Academy in Wylie Texas. He is Married to his wife Lizzie of six years who is also a teacher at GISD, has six children, and three grandchildren. Adversity has been the biggest teacher in life for Coach Johnson and one thing that has been constant is the ability to weather those difficult times and continue moving forward. His goal is to help instill this same type of willpower and tenacity in our students within our community at GISD.
