Coach Strauss is originally from Plano, Texas, and a graduate of Plano West High School, where he was a four-year member of the football program. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Athletic Coaching. It was at SFA that he met his wife, who is also an educator and coach. Coach Strauss began his career in education at Nacogdoches ISD and later continued teaching and coaching at Center ISD. He joined Greenville ISD in 2024, and this marks his sixth year in education and second year with the district. He is dedicated to fostering discipline, teamwork, and character in student-athletes both on and off the field
