Meet Head Coach Cindee Wright-Clark

Coach Cindee Wright-Clark begins her first season as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Greenville High School, bringing an unmatched passion for the game, proven leadership, and a championship mindset to the program.

Known for her high-energy approach and unwavering commitment to excellence, Coach Clark has built a reputation for inspiring those around her to achieve their full potential. Throughout her career, she has consistently gone above and beyond in every role she has held, leading with integrity, accountability, and a genuine passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

A natural leader from an early age, Coach Clark believes that her enthusiasm, work ethic, and ability to connect with people from all backgrounds have been key factors in her success. Her philosophy centers on building strong relationships, creating a positive team culture, and challenging players to become the best versions of themselves.

Success has followed Coach Clark everywhere she has coached. During her high school coaching career, every program she has been a part of has qualified for the state playoffs. She owns an impressive overall coaching record of 359 wins and 185 losses, good for a .660 winning percentage. While serving alongside legendary Coach McDowell, the team advanced to the State Semifinals, and during her second season at Minden High School, she led the Lady Tide to the State Quarterfinals.

A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Coach Clark graduated from Southwood High School, where she starred in basketball and track under Coach McDowell. She credits her high school experience with teaching her the importance of understanding her identity, embracing her purpose, and striving for excellence.

Her athletic accomplishments are nothing short of remarkable. In 2005, she was named both Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, helped lead Southwood to three State Basketball Championships, and qualified for the State Track & Field Championships. She also broke multiple school records while capturing first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 4x100-meter relay.

Coach Clark continued her athletic career at New Mexico Junior College, where she earned NJCAA Second Team All-American honors, was named to the Dean's List each year, and received Who's Who Among American Junior College Students recognition. She later transferred to Houston Baptist University, earning Great West Conference Honorable Mention honors in basketball while also earning all-conference recognition in track and breaking additional school records.

Following college, Coach Clark continued her basketball career professionally, playing overseas in Mexico during the 2011–2012 season before returning home to serve as the starting point guard for the Shreveport Suns semi-professional team from 2012–2014.

Her coaching résumé includes experience at both the collegiate and high school levels. She has served as an assistant coach at Centenary College, Allen Community College, Southern University at Shreveport, and Loyola College Prep, where she again coached alongside Coach McDowell. Coach Clark has also served as the head coach at Vermilion Community College, Calvary Baptist Academy, Green Oaks High School, Southwood High School, and Minden High School, consistently building competitive, disciplined, and successful programs.

Coach Clark earned her master's degree from Ashford University and remains dedicated to mentoring young women through athletics, emphasizing discipline, character, accountability, teamwork, and academic success.

Coach Clark and her husband, Eric, are the proud parents of one son, Dallas Clark.

As she begins this exciting new chapter at Greenville High School, Coach Clark is committed to building a championship culture, fostering excellence in the classroom and on the court, and developing young women who are prepared to succeed long after the final buzzer sounds.
