There’s been a change in the location of the football stadium on the schedule of the Greenville Lions for Friday night’s game.

 The 0-1 Lions are still taking on the 0-1 Dallas Lincoln Tigers at 7:30 p.m. in Dallas. But the game is being played at Forester Field, 8233 Military Parkway, rather than the Pleasant Grove Stadium as was previously listed.

 The game is one of 11 involving local teams that are scheduled for Friday night.

 Also scheduled are 1-0 Garland at 1-0 Royse City, 1-0 Dallas Molina at 0-1 Quinlan Ford, 1-0 Edgewood at 1-0 Caddo Mills, 0-1 Commerce at 1-0 Leonard, 0-1 Lone Oak at 0-1 Paris Chisum, 1-0 Celeste at 1-0 Cumby, 0-1 Bells at 0-1 Wolfe City, 0-1 Boles at 0-1 Collinsville, 0-1 Fannindel at 0-0 Campbell and 0-1 Greenville Christian at 0-1 Rockwall Heritage.

 The Greenville Lions opened their season last week with a 38-37 heartbreaking home loss to the W.T. White Longhorns. W.T. White blocked Zach Allen’s extra point and intercepted a pass at the Longhorn 10 to preserve the victory.

 Lions coach Darren Duke said it appeared that the Longhorns were offsides on the play when they blocked the extra point but there was no call.

 “It looked like they were offsides to us,” said Duke. “I don’t know why it wasn’t called. That was disappointing because we had battled back. We stopped them. The defense got the ball back and gave us an opportunity.”

 The Lions started a drive at their 6-yard line with 1:11 remaining. They were hoping to get into field goal range for Allen, who had kicked a 45-yard field goal earlier in the game. But after quarterback Brandon Stephens completed a couple of passes and ran for gains of 12 and 14 yards to reach midfield, the Longhorns intercepted a pass at their 10 with less than 30 seconds remaining to win their first season opener since 2014.

 The Lions outgained the Longhorns 518-348 in total yardage after stacking up 348 yards rushing. Stephens ran for a game-high 169 yards on 18 carries, including runs of 45, 3 and 9 yards. Running back Lester Turner powered ahead for 136 yards on 16 carries, including a long gain of 61 yards.

 Lincoln dropped its season opener to Wilmer-Hutchins. The Tigers went 1-8 last season.

 The Lincoln-Greenville game was called off last season in Greenville due to lightning after only 14 plays.

 Royse City claimed its opener over Frisco Centennial 28-7 as the Bulldogs won their fifth straight dating back to last season.

 Garland won its opener over Irving MacArthur, 35-22.

 Dallas Molina captured its season opener over Fort Worth Western Hills, 36-12. Ford lost 42-20 to Caddo Mills.

 Edgewood held off a late rally attempt by Commerce to win 28-23.

 Leonard surprised No. 24 state-ranked Wolfe City 28-26 in double overtime.

 Lone Oak opened its season with a 21-14 loss to Eustace.

 Paris Chisum dropped its opener to Rivercrest, 64-0.

 Celeste won its opener 47-12 over Dallas Gateway while Cumby avenged a loss to Quitman last year by thrashing the Bulldogs, 48-18.

 Bells lost 38-30 to Honey Grove.

 Boles dropped its opener to Scurry-Rosser, 51-26.

 Collinsville lost its 2019 opener to Muenster Sacred Heart, 8-6.

 Fannindel dropped its six-man season opener to Saint Jo, 48-0.

 Greenville Christian School and Rockwall Heritage, two former district rivals, dropped their openers to Wylie Prep (57-14) and Watauga Harvest, 54-0.
